Receta Marian's Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredientes
- 6 Tbsp. butter -- melted
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. chicken broth
- 1 c. half and half -- (fat free works)
- 1/2 tsp freshly grnd black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt -- more to taste
- 1 tsp grnd sage
- 4 c. cooked chicken -- minced
- 1 x 16 ounce. frzn vegetables, thawed
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp soda
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 5 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. buttermilk
Direcciones
- Heat butter in large saucepan. Add in flour and mix well. Add in broth and half and half and stir to dissolve flour. Heat till thickened. Fold in seasonings. When warm, add in the cooked chicken and thawed frzn vegetables. Heat through. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Meanwhile, make the biscuits in medium sized bowl. Stir together all the dry ingredients, cut in the butter till it's in small pcs and add in the buttermilk. Stir till it forms a ball. Knead a few times till smooth on a lightly floured surface. Pat out to a 1/2" thickness and cut with a 2" biscuit cutter. Pour the chicken mix into a 9x13 baking dish then top with the unbaked biscuits. (You may have a few biscuits left over). Bake for about 20 min, till the biscuits are lightly browned and the chicken mix is bubbling.
- Serves 6-8 -depending on how hungry everyone is. You could double the biscuit recipe and have an extra pan of them to serve with honey and butter.
