Ingredientes

  • 200 ml water
  • 1 x egg
  • 100 gm plain flour
  • 50 gm cornflour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 450 gm assorted vegetables broccoli and cauliflower florets strips of red pepper baby Thai sweetcorn thinly sliced onions spring onions etc
  •     groundnut oil for deep frying
  •     lemon wedges to serve

Direcciones

  1. Refrigeratethe water and the egg.
  2. Whisk together all the batter ingredients just before dipping the food.
  3. The batter should only just be amalgamated so which a few small lumps of flour are still apparent.
  4. Get a pan of oil warm.
  5. If you are organised sufficient to have a kitchen thermometer the oil should register about 190 degrees C/375 degrees F.
  6. Dip the vegetables into the batter then into the warm oil.
  7. Cook them till golden brown turning from Ume to time with a fork.
  8. They will probably bob back up again but keep trying.
  9. Cook them for a couple of min on each side.
  10. Drain on kitchen paper and eat straight away with the lemon wedges.
  11. Serves 2
