Receta Mother's Biscuit Mix

Ingredientes
- 14 c. unsifted flour
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. baking pwdr
- 6 teaspoon salt
- 3 level teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2 1/2 c. shortening (vegetable)
- 3/4 c. biscuit mix
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk (dry lowfat milk & water may be used)
- 3/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 1/2 c. biscuit mix
Direcciones
- Sift dry ingredients once in large mixing bowl. Crumble shortening with fingers into dry mix. Use electric mixer and blend well. Store in cool, dry place. Makes 1 gallon of mix.
- Roll on floured (use the mix) board. Yield 18 biscuits. Bake at 450 degrees for 8-10 min.
- Dissolve yeast in the water with 2 tsp sugar added. Let rise. Add in biscuit mix. Beat knead till smooth (about 25 times). Use mix on board when kneading. Cover with damp cloth or possibly large bowl. Let stand while you fix topping. Roll and top.
