- 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. Margarine or possibly butter
- 1/4 c. Shortening
- 1/2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 1/2 c. Quick-cooking oats
- 1 c. Raisins or possibly minced nuts
- if using self rising flour
- Baking soda
- Salt.
- 1/2 c. Packed brown sugar softened`
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1 x Egg
- 1 c. All-purpose flour*

- Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients except oats, flour and raisins. Stir in oats, flour and raisins. Press dough in ungreased square pan, 8 X 8 X 2 inches. Bake about 25 min or possibly till light brown. Cut into about 2-inch squares while hot. 16 SQUARES; 165 CALORIES PER SQUARE.
