  1. Stir the flour and salt in the centre and make a well in the centre of the flour
  2. Beat egg and milk together.
  3. Gradually add beaten egg and a little milk to the flour and stir well.
  4. Work in the rest of the liquid until a smooth batter.
  5. Melt a little lard into a frying pan.
  6. Once the lard has melted ladle in enough mix to cover the base of the pan and cook for 2-3 mins, making sure golden on both sides.
  7. Then add a topping of your choice for example lemon and sugar work well.
