- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 15 fresh leaves, snipped
- 1 tsp fresh rosemary, snipped

- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 1/4 cup pasta - penne, rigatoni, fusilli

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20would%20be%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20told%20that%20they%20are%20particularly%20fond%20of%20back%20of%20knees,%20inside%20of%20elbows,%20ankles%20and%20hairlines.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20suppose%20I%20can%20be%20grateful%20that%20they%20have%20confined%20their%20feasting%20to%20the%20back%20of%20my%20knees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYesterday%20I%20had%2012%20welts%20behind%20one%20knee%20and%208%20behind%20the%20other.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20I%20had%2030%20behind%20one%20knee%20and%2025%20behind%20the%20other.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYes,%20I%20counted.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20neighbor%20also%20told%20me%20that%20the%20bites%20last%20about%206%20weeks.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh%20joy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20a%20lot%20of%20self%20control.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20itching%20got%20so%20bad%20last%20night%20that%20it%20woke%20me%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20did%20I%20scratch?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20me!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20exerted%20my%20iron%20will%20and%20vowed%20to%20ignore%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut,%20as%20so%20often%20happens%20with%20people%20who%20have%20a%20lot%20of%20self%20control.....%20When%20it%20slips%20it's%20well%20and%20truly%20%20gone.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20scratched.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReally%20hard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20long,%20strong%20nails.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20decided%20that%20I%20had%20obviously%20removed%20all%20of%20the%20skin%20from%20my%20legs%20and%20should%20probably%20get%20up%20and%20put%20on%20a%20tourniquet%20or%20something%20to%20stop%20the%20bleeding.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20of%20the%20reasons%20I%20try%20not%20to%20scratch%20is%20that%20I%20have%20quite%20sensitive%20skin.%20%20A%20light%20scratch%20can%20turn%20a%20small%20dot%20from%20a%20mosquito%20bite%20into%20a%20huge%20welt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20backs%20of%20my%20legs%20looked%20like%20a%20relief%20map%20of%20a%20mountain%20range.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20actually%20kind%20of%20scary.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20also%203%20in%20the%20morning.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don't%20have%20much%20in%20the%20way%20of%20medicine-type%20stuff.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EActually%20all%20I%20have%20is%20a%20bottle%20of%20rubbing%20alcohol%20and%20a%20bottle%20of%20hydrogen%20peroxide.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20decided%20the%20alcohol%20would%20hurt%20so,%20by%20default,%20I%20put%20peroxide%20on%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20soothed%20the%20welts%20enough%20that%20I%20could%20sleep.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd,%20actually,%20didn't%20start%20itching%20again%20until%20about%20an%20hour%20ago.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe'll%20see%20how%20long%20the%20iron%20will%20lasts%20this%20time!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20that%20summer%20is%20officially%20over,%20I'm%20back%20in%20the%20kitchen%20and%20cooking%20pasta.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAbout%20a%20month%20ago%20I%20decided%20that%20the%20chard%20was%20seriously%20past%20it's%20prime,%20and%20time%20for%20it%20to%20do%20it's%20part%20in%20the%20compost%20pile.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20hadn't%20had%20rain%20in%20ages%20and%20I%20couldn'l%20pull%20most%20of%20it%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20just%20cut%20it%20all%20off%20and%20figured%20the%20roots%20would%20bet%20roto-tilled%20under%20in%20the%20spring.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20came%20back.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20know%20have%20a%20fresh%20new%20crop%20of%20chard%20to%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20sending%20this%20to%20Bellini%20Valli,%20of%20More%20Than%20Burnt%20Toast%20who%20is%20this%20week's%20host%20for%20Presto%20Pasta%20Nights.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShe'll%20have%20a%20recap%20of%20all%20the%20fabulous%20dishes%20on%20her%20blog%20on%20Friday.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20pasta%20according%20to%20package%20instructions.%20%20Drain.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWash%20the%20chard%20and%20trim%20any%20bad%20bits.%20Stack%20the%20leaves%20together%20and%20fold%20over,%20the%20long%20way.%20Slice%20into%20strips,%20using%20both%20leaves%20and%20stems,%20but%20keeping%20the%20stems%20separate%20as%20best%20you%20can.%20%20Roughly%20chop%20tomatoes.%20Slice%20sausages%20into%201%22%20(2.5cm)%20pieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20oil%20in%20large%20nonstick%20skillet%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%20Add%20paprika%20and%20saut%C3%A9%201%20minute.%20Add%20onion,%20garlic,%20chard%20stems%20and%20saut%C3%A9%205%20minutes%20or%20until%20starting%20to%20get%20tender.%20Add%20sausage,%20sage,%20rosemary%20and%20saut%C3%A9%205%20minutes%20longer.%20Add%20tomatoes,%20chard%20leaves,%20turn%20heat%20to%20low,%20cover%20and%20simmer%205%20-%2010%20minutes%20or%20until%20sausages%20are%20cooked%20through%20and%20tomatoes%20have%20cooked%20down%20a%20bit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20drained%20pasta%20and%20toss%20to%20mix%20well.%20Heat%20through%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you'll%20excuse%20me%20now....%20I%20have,%20er,%20things%20to%20do.....%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
