Ingredientes
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. hot water
- 2 c. lowfat milk, scalded
- 5 3/4 to 6 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp. shortening
Direcciones
- Mix yeast with hot water. Combine warm lowfat milk, sugar, salt and shortening; cold. Add in 2 c. flour to lowfat milk, mix well. Add in yeast, mix well. Add in sufficient of the remaining flour to make moderately stiff dough. Knead dough 8-10 min. Shape into a ball.
- Place in a greased bowl; turn over. Cover; let rise in a hot place till doubled. Punch down, shape into 2 balls. Cover and let rest 10 min. Shape into loaves, put into greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise to double again. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 min. If bread is browning too fat, cover with foil for the last 15 min.
