- 1Â 2/3 c. All-purpose flour
- 1 c. Granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. Packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1Â 1/2 c. Buttermilk
- 1Â 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 ounce Unsweetened chocolate
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 x Rec. Creamy Vanilla Frosting
- 3 c. Powdered sugar
- 1/3 c. Margarine/butter, softened
- 1Â 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk, about
Direcciones
- Heat and cold the 2 ounces of chocolate. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour 2 round pans, 8 or possibly 9 x 1 1/2 inches. Beat all ingredients except Creamy Vanilla Frosting on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high speed 3 min, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pans. Bake 30 to 35 min or possibly till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold 10 min; remove from pans. Cold completely. Fill layers and frost cake with Creamy Vanilla Frosting. Creamy Vanilla Frosting: Mix powdered sugar and margarine.
- Stir in vanilla and lowfat milk till smooth and of spreading consistency.
