Receta Red Velvet Cocoa Cake

Ingredientes
- 1 c. Shortening
- 1Â 1/2 c. Sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 3 Tbsp. Hershey'sr cocoa
- 2 ounce Red food coloring
- 2Â 1/2 c. Cake flour, sifted
- 1 c. Buttermilk
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. Vinegar

- It is supposedly the one which was on the Hershey's Cocoa label. You are on your own for the frosting . . .
- Cream the shortening and sugar. Add in Large eggs and vanilla; beat well. In a separate dish, blend cocoa and food coloring; add in to the sugar mix. Ad flour, buttermilk, and salt alternately. Mix soda and vinegar in a c. and add in.
- Butter and flour two 9" cake pans. Divide the batter proportionately between the tw pans. Bake at 350x for 30-35 min. Let cold before frosting.
- Note: Better results can be obtained using a red paste food coloring, available in specialty shops or possibly cake decorating supply departments.
