Receta Salted Herring And Red Beet Salad

Ingredientes
- 4 (1 pound jar) salted or possibly schmalz herring fillets cut into 1/2 in. cubes
- 1/2 c. diced, cool cooked veal or possibly chicken
- 1 (1 lb.) jar pickled beets, liquid removed and minced
- 1 c. diced dill pickles
- 1/4 c. finely minced onions
- 2 apples, peeled, cored and diced
- 2 hard cooked Large eggs, 1 minced, 1 sliced
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1/3 c. light cream
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
Direcciones
- In a large bowl, combine fish, meat, beets, pickles, onion, apples and the minced egg. In a small bowl, blend mayonnaise, cream, pepper and sugar. Combine with fish mix, place in refrigerator and let stand several hrs to blend flavors. Arrange on individual salad plates or possibly in a salad bowl, and garnish with egg slices and tomato wedges. Serve with bread sticks or possibly fresh rolls.
