Receta Sauce For Chiles Rellenos

Ingredientes
- 1/2 x Onion -- sliced
- 4 Tbsp. Salad oil
- 28 ounce Can Italian style tomatoes
- 1 tsp Garlic -- mashed
- Â Â Salt and pepper
- 1/2 tsp Oregano -- crushed
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 c. Chicken broth -- (if sauce Too thick)
Direcciones
- Saute/fry onion slices in warm oil in medium-sized saucepan. Puree canned tomatoes in blender with garlic. Strain. Add in pureed tomatoes and garlic to sauteed onion slices. Season with salt and pepper and add in oregano. Add in sugar and correct seasoning. Cover and cook over medium heat for 5 min.
- If sauce thickens too much, add in chicken broth or possibly tomato juice and cook 2 min. Take to the table in a sauceboat. Should be served over Chiles Rellenos to cover.
