Receta Savoury Baked Macaroni ( Macaroni Con Pomodori)

Ingredientes
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 lrg onion finely minced
- 2 clv garlic crushed
- 1 sm chilli pepper seeded and finely minced
- 4 x rashers smoked streaky bacon derinded and minced
- 1 x 397g can peeled tomatoes
- 1 tsp sugar
- Â Â salt
- Â Â short cut macaroni
- 50 gm grated Provolone or possibly other hard cheese
Direcciones
- Heat the oil in a saucepan add in the onion garlic chilli pepper and bacon and fry gently for 10 min stirring occasionally.
- Add in the tomatoes with their juice the sugar and salt to taste.
- Bring to the boil stirring cover and simmer for 20 min.
- Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water till al dente; drain thoroughly.
- Arrange alternate layers of pasta sauce and cheese in an oiled ovenproof dish finishing with cheese.
- Serve immediately or possibly cover and leave in a preheated cold oven 140 degrees C/275 degrees F Gas Mark 1 for 20 to 30 min to allow the flavours to blend.
