Receta Spiced Cranberry Sauce
Perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas, you can make this the day before and have one less thing to worry about on the big day. It's so simple you'll never buy store-bought cranberry sauce again!
Ingredientes
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup orange juice
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tsp. fresh, grated ginger
- 2 Tbs. Calvados (apple brandy)
Direcciones
- In a deep saucepan, over medium heat, mix sugar with orange juice and stir until dissolved. Add the cranberries, cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg. Cover with a splatter screen and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes until the cranberries pop and the mixture resembles jam. Add grated ginger and Calvados and simmer for an additional 5 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Pour into a jar or bowl and allow to cool - about 2-3 hours - allowing the sauce to set. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Serve at room temperature.
