Receta Spicy Buttermilk Coffee Cake

Ingredientes
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 c. buttermilk or possibly sour lowfat milk
- 2 beaten large eggs
- 1/3 c. minced nuts
Direcciones
- Put together flour, brown sugar and 1/2 tsp salt. Cut in shortening till mix is crumbly; set aside 1/2 cup crumb mix. To remaining crumb mix, add in baking pwdr, soda, spices and mix well. Add in buttermilk and large eggs, mix well. Pour into two greased 8 x 1 1/2 inch or possibly 9 x 1 1/2 inch round baking pans.Put together reserved crumb mix with nuts and sprinkle on top of cakes. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 20-25 min. Serve warm. Makes 2 coffee cakes.
