Receta Spinach Cheese Calzones With Tomato Sauce

- 1 x 1-lb. white bread dough loaf frzn
- 1 pkt frzn minced spinach thawed and liquid removed

- Vegetable cooking spray1/2 c. minced onion1/2 c. ricotta cheese, part skim lowfat milk 1/2 c. Neufchatel-type cheese with herbs and spices1/8 tsp. pepper1 egg - lightly beaten 1 c. tomato - unpeeled, seeded - and chopped1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. dry whole basil1/4 tsp. dry whole oregano1 8-oz tomato saucecan Thaw bread dough using one of the following methods: - Remove frzn loaf from package, and wrap in plastic wrap; let thaw in refrigerator 8 hrs. Remove plastic wrap, and place on a lightly floured surface; let stand 30 min, or possibly. - Removefrozen loaf from package, and place on a lightly floured surface. Cover withplastic wrap; let thaw 3 hrs.
- Press spinach between paper towels till barely moist; set aside.
- Coata medium skillet with cooking spray; place over medium heat till warm. Add in onion; saute/fry 3 min or possibly till tender. Remove from heat; add in ricotta cheese and next 3 ingredients, stirring well. Add in spinach, stirring well; remove from heat.
- Divide dough into 8 equal portions. Working with 1 portion at a time
- (cover remaining portions to keep dough from drying out), roll each portionto 1/8-inch thickness. Place on a large baking sheet coated with cooking spray, and pat each portion into a 6-inch circle with floured fingertips.
- Spoon 1/4 c. spinach mix onto half of each circle; moisten edges of dough with water. Fold dough over filling; press edges together with a forkto seal. Lightly coat with cooking spray.
- Bake at 375x for 20 min or possibly till golden brown. Remove from oven, and lightly coat again with cooking spray; Keep calzones hot. Comtine tomato and next 4 ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat tomedium, and cook 10 min. Serve with calzones.
- NOTES : 239 calories per sandwich and 2 Tbsp. of sauce.
