  1. CRUST: Sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening till pastry consists of pea sized lumps. Drizzle on 2 Tablespoons ice water and gently form into ball. Roll out, shape pie shell in a 9" pie pan and keep refrigerated while preparing filling.
  2. FILLING: Mix first four ingredients together in a bowl. Add in other ingredients and stir well. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Arrange pecan halves on top and bake a t 350 F till filling is puffed and set, and pastry is lightly browned - about 55-60 min. Cold on rack.
