  • 6 slc Bread approximately
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 3 x Egg yolks slightly beaten
  • 1 lrg Lemon juice of
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 x 9 inch pie shell baked
  • 3 x Egg whites
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar

Direcciones

  1. Cut crusts from bread slices. Dip slices in bowl of water to soften; squeeze out water. Use sufficient bread to make 1 c., but don't pack too tighlty. Put bread, sugar, egg yolks, lemon juice and butter in top of double boiler. Cook till mix thickens; then spoon into pie shell.
  2. Beat egg whites till frothy; gradually add in sugar, and continue beating till mix forms peaks. Spread meringue over filling. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 min or possibly till meringue is brown.
