Receta "Almond Joy" Macaroons
A tweaked recipe from Hershey's for coconut and chocolate lovers.
Ingredientes
- 1 package coconut flakes (10 oz.)
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 egg whites
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
- 3 tbs. toasted, chopped almonds
- 1 cup your favorite chocolate candy (I like Heshey's Special Dark), chopped, or use chocolate chips
- optional: canned chocolate frosting, or Nutella
Direcciones
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat egg whites and egg together, add extract, flour, sugar, salt, and coconut, mix together.
- Fold in candy and nuts.
- Spread in greased 9x9 pan, bake about 30 minutes, or until lightly browned. Note: I line the pan with foil that overhangs for ease of removal and quick clean-up.
- Cover with foil and let sit 8 or more hours (important).
- Frost, cut into bars.
