Receta Baked Cabbage
Being Irish I grew up eating cabbage and ham, I love Cabbage. But we always had it plain, or in colcannon. In Lancaster Pa (Amish country) at Millers Restaurant I had Baked Cabbage and it was wonderful! I couldn't wait to make it at home.
Ingredientes
- 1 medium size head of cabbage
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup grated cheddar or white american cheese
Direcciones
- Preheat oven to 350
- Grease a 2qt casserole.
- Cut cabbage into wedges and parboil in water in covered saucepan for approx 5mins.
- Drain cabbage and place in the buttered casserole dish.
- Sprinkle with flour, salt, pepper and sugar.
- Dot with butter (or melt and pour over evenly)
- Pour milk over cabbage and top with cheddar.
- Bake for approx 35 mins or till top is golden brown and bubbling around the sides.
