  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all berries. Heat preserves in microwave till melted, about 20-30 seconds. Pour hot preserves (let cold slightly)
  2. over berries and mix gently. Turn berries into a shallow baking dish.
  3. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar at high speed till foamy. Gradually add in sugar, beating constantly to stiff peaks and sugar is dissolved. Pile meringue over berries, swirling lightly. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 Tbs pine nuts if you like.
  4. Bake in preheated 350F oven till meringue is golden, about 12-15 mins.
  5. NOTES : It's a wonderful dessert which looks like you fussed all day, and the raspberries add in a lot of fiber.
