Receta Braised Anise Beef

Ingredientes
- 2 lb Beef chuck
- 1 x Clove garlic
- 2 Tbsp. Oil
- 3 Tbsp. Soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sherry
- 1 dsh Pepper
- 2 x Cloves star anise
- 1 tsp Sugar
Direcciones
- 1. Leave beef whole. Crush garlic.
- 2. Heat oil in a heavy pan. Brown beef quickly on all sides.
- 3. Add in garlic, soy sauce, water, salt, sherry, pepper and star anise, and heat. Simmer, covered, 1 hour. (Use an asbestos pad so meat will not burn.)
- 4. Turn meat. Add in sugar and simmer slowly 1 hour more. Serve warm or possibly cool.
- NOTE: If the meat gets too dry during cooking, add in 1 Tbsp. water mixed with 1 Tbsp. soy sauce.
