Ingredientes

  • 2 c. King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 x egg
  • 1/3 c. honey
  • 3/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. brandy (apple brandy is good)
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 c. peeled minced tart apples
  • 1/2 c. minced walnuts
  • 6 Tbsp. brown sugar firmly packed
  • 6 Tbsp. King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 Tbsp. butter

Direcciones

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking pwdr and salt. In another bowl, beat together egg, honey, lowfat milk, brandy, and vegetable oil. Gently stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients, being careful not to over stir. Then mix in apples and walnuts.
  2. Make the topping. In a small bowl, mix sugar, flour and butter together until crumbly. Set aside.
  3. Spoon muffin batter into 12 greased muffin tins. Sprinkle each muffin with a heaping Tbsp. of topping. Bake muffins in a preheated 375F oven till they're golden and test done, about 25 min. Remove muffins from pan and cold completely on a wire rack.
  4. The brandy adds "spirited" flavor, but the actual alcohol evaporates during baking.
  5. Just A Hint...If you're trying to avoid alcohol, but do not want to leave the brandy out of the recipe, fear not; during baking, the alcohol evaporates, leaving just the spirited flavor.
