  • 1 sm Yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 x Cloves (large) garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 x Green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 1/2 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/4 lb Butter
  • 2 can (6.5-ounce) minced clams
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Cajun/Creole shellfish seasoning
  • 1 tsp Onion pwdr Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 c. Italian seasoned bread crumbs Paprika, for color Clam shells

Direcciones

  1. Mince onion, green pepper and celery; set aside. Heat butter on high heat in frying pan, add in vegetables and saute/fry till soft and translucent/soft, about 4-5 min. Stir periodically with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add in clams, including broth, and stir. Season with Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning and onion pwdr. Taste, adding salt and pepper or possibly more Cajun seasoning as desired. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook 5 min. Then add in Italian bread crumbs.
  3. Place in clam shells or possibly shells purchased in a gourmet store. Add in paprika for color. Place under broiler 5 min or possibly till browned.
  4. Makes 12-14 servings.
  5. NOTE: You can do everything ahead except the broiler step and freeze the clams, covered tightly with foil, till the day of the party. Take out to defrost in refrigerator and broil at the last minute.
