  • 1/2 c. Homemade Biscuit Mix
  • 2 Tbsp. Whole-wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
  • 2 x Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 c. Frzn pitted tart cherries unsweetened
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Water
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. Light cream (optional)

Direcciones

  1. In a medium mixing bowl combine biscuit mix, whole wheat flour, and the 1 Tbsp. sugar. Beat egg slightly; combine with lowfat milk. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan combine apples, frzn cherries, the 1/4 c. sugar, and 1 Tbsp. of the water. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. cover and simmer for 5 min, or possibly till apples are almost tender, stirring occasionally. Combine corstarch with remaining 1 Tbsp. water; add in to fruit. Cook and stir over medium heat till thickened and bubbly. Transfer warm cherry-apple mix to a 1 qt casserole.
  3. Add in the egg-lowfat milk mix all at once to the dry ingredients, stirring just till moistened. Immediately spoon biscuit topping into 4 mounds onto warm fruit mix. Stir together the 1 tsp. sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over dough.
  4. Bake in a 400 degree oven about 15 min, or possibly till toothpick inserted into biscuits comes out clean. Serve hot with cream.
