Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 2 c. Brown sugar -- packed
  • 2 x 1 ounce square unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 x Egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. Sour lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 c. Cake flour -- sifted
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. Warm coffee -- strong
  • 2 x Egg whites
  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 4 c. Confectioner's sugar
  • 1/4 c. Cocoa ds Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla

Direcciones

  1. Cream butter; add in sugar gradually and cream till fluffy. Blend in melted chocolate. Add in unbeaten egg yolks, sour lowfat milk and vanilla; beat well. Add in sifted flour alternately withhot coffee, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into 9 x 13 pan that has been lightly oiled. Bake at 350F for 35 - 40 min. Cream 1/2 c. butter with powdered sugar, cocoa and salt. Add in 1/3 c. strong coffee and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Blend to spreading consistency. Spread on cake and sprinkle with toasted, slivered almonds.
