  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add in egg and extract; mix well.
  2. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add in to creamed mix and mix well. Stir in the chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 min. Cold on pans for 1 minute before removing to wire racks; cold completely.
  3. Yield: about 5dozen.
