  • 8 x 1/4" thick rump or possibly fillet steak slices
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 4 med Sliced onions Black pepper and salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. Walnut pickle juice or possibly
  • 1 Tbsp. Mushroom ketchup or possibly
  • 1 Tbsp. Oyster juice

Direcciones

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet and heat.
  2. Add in onion slices; soften, push to side of pan, add in steak slices.
  3. Brown quickly on both sides, add in pepper, mix with onion.
  4. Cover, cook gently for 10 min.
  5. Remove steaks, keep hot.
  6. Add in walnut juice or possibly mushroom ketchup or possibly oyster juice and salt to pan.
  7. Boil for 1 minute, pour over steaks.
  8. NOTES : Some of the finest beef in the world comes from Scotland, as witness the huge numbers of Aberdeen Angus and Belted Galloway bulls sold overseas to cattle breeders from as far away as Argentina, America and Australia.
  9. This recipe dates from 1826. Use prime steak for this dish to savour it to the full.
