Receta Cora's Raised Donuts

Ingredientes
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. hot lowfat milk
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/3 c. water
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Direcciones
- Put together all ingredients well. Knead 5 - 10 min. Place in greased bowl. Turn once. Cover and let rise till double - 45 to 60 min. Punch down. Divide in half. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with lightly floured doughnut cutter with hole in center. Cover and let raise till very light - 30 to 45 min. Deep fry in hot fat (375 degrees) about one minute per side or possibly till golden.
