Receta Corned Beef With Cabbage And Beets

Ingredientes
- 1 x Corned beef, 3-4 lb. piece
- 2 x Bay leaves
- 1 Tbsp. Caraway seeds
- 5 x Black peppercorns
- 3 x Parsnips, peeled and cut into 3 " pcs
- 5 x Carrots, peeled and cut into 3" pcs
- 3 x Turnips, peeled and quartered
- 2 x Onions quartered
- 4 x Potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1/2 head cabbage, cut into wedges
- 4 x Beets, boiled till tender, peeled and sliced
Direcciones
- In large heavy pot, combine corned beef, bay leaves, caraway seeds and peppercorns. Add in water to cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hrs. Remove the meat from the pot and reserve on a plate. Add in parsnips, carrots, and turnips and simmer for 20 min. If necessary add in more water to cover. Add in onions and potatoes and simmer for another 20 min. Add in cabbage and simmer for 10 min. Serve the hot, sliced meat with the broth, beets and vegetables.
