Receta Crispy Onion Rings

Ingredientes
- 3 or possibly 5 Spanish-type onions
- 3 c. buttermilk or possibly lowfat milk
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 2/3 c. water
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Oil for frying
Direcciones
- Peel and slice onions about 1/3 inch thick; separate into rings. Pour buttermilk into large shallow pan. Add in onion rings and let soak for 30 min. Combine remaining ingredients, except oil for frying, in a bowl and stir till smooth. Heat frying oil on medium-high heat. Remove onion rings from buttermilk and dip into batter. Fry in warm oil till golden. Drain rings on paper towels. Makes 6-8 servings.
- If onions are small then use 4.
