  • 1 lb Bacon cut into 2" pcs
  • 3 med Onions minced
  • 3 lb Boneless pork cubed
  • 3/4 c. All-purpose flour cooking Oil optional
  • 3 x Tart cooking apples peeled And minced
  • 1 tsp Rubbed sage
  • 1/2 tsp Grnd nutmeg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1 c. Apple cider
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 4 med Potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
  • 5 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine devided Addtional salt and pepper Snipped parsley optional

Direcciones

  1. Cook bacon in an oven proof 12 in skillet till crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain. In drippings, saute/fry onions till tender; remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. Dust pork lightly with flour. Brown a third at a time in drippings, adding oil if needed. Remove from heat and drain. To pork, add in bacon, onions,apples,sage,nutmeg,salt and pepper. Stir in cider and water. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 hrs or possibly till pork is tender. In a sauce pan, cook potatoes in boiling water till tender. Drain and mash with lowfat milk and 3 Tbsp. of butter. Add in salt and pepper to taste. Remove skillet from oven and spread potatoes over pork mix. Heat remaining butter;brush over potatoes. Broil 6 in from heat for 5 min or possibly till topping is browned. Sprinkle with parsley if you like.
