Receta French Onion Soup With Browned Garlic

Ingredientes
- 1 c. sherry or possibly dry white wine
- 4 lrg yellow onions thinly sliced
- 8 x cloves garlic (to 10) chopped
- 1 Tbsp. whole wheat or possibly unbleached white pastry flour
- 4 c. vegetable broth
- 1/2 tsp grnd black pepper salt or possibly low sodium soy sauce to taste
- 6 slc French bread toasted
Direcciones
- 1. In a large, heavy stockpot, heat wine till bubbling. Add in the onions, and reduce heat to medium. Cook onions slowly, stirring frequently, for at least 20 min, till they become paste like.
- 2. Add in garlic, and continue to cook for 5 - 10 min, till garlic begins to look brown.
- 3. Stir in flour, and cook for 2 min. Pour in stock, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 20 min. Season with pepper and salt or possibly soy sauce. Ladle soup into bowls, and float a slice of toasted bread on top of each serving.
