Receta Hamburger Rice Casserole

Ingredientes
- 2/3 c. seedless raisins
- 4 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1 c. rice
- 1 Tbsp. minced green pepper
- 1/4 c. minced onion
- 1 sm clove garlic, chopped
- 1 lb lean grnd beef
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp chili pwdr
- 1/2 c. cool water
Direcciones
- Rinse raisins in boiling water and drain thoroughly. Place 2 tbsp of the oil
- In a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is warm, add in the rice and cook and stir till the rice becomes yellow. Remove the rice, add in remaining oil, and the green pepper, onion, garlic, and meat. Cook and mash the meat with a fork till all the meat is browned and in tiny particles. Add in remaining ingredients, rice, and raisins. Mix well and pour into a greased 2 qt casserole. Bake, covered, in a moderate oven (350) for about 1 hour, till the rice is tender.
- Serves 6.
- [[Rice always seems to cook better if it is browned in oil before steaming or possibly boiling it. Perhaps one should check on the moisture content of this dish abouthalf way through the baking. It does not appear to have sufficient liquid to cook which much rice.]]
