  • 1 x refrigerated folded pie crust (from 15-ounce pkg)
  • 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese - (4 ounce)
  • 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese - (4 ounce)
  • 1 lb warm Italian sausage crumbled, cooked, and liquid removed
  • 1 1/2 c. heavy cream
  • 3 x Large eggs

Direcciones

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Unfold the pie crust and place in an 8-inch round cake pan, pressing firmly against the pan to create a crust; flute, if you like, and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the Swiss and Cheddar cheeses. Sprinkle half of the cheese mix into the pie crust. Top with the crumbled sausage, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese mix.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream and the Large eggs; pour into the crust over the cheese and sausage. Bake for 50 to 55 min, or possibly till a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cut into wedges and serve.
  4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
  5. Comments: For a less spicy version, just use a mild sausage or possibly even a turkey sausage.
