Receta Holiday Soup Mix

- Lg. limas
- Baby limas
- Navy beans
- Lentils
- Green split peas
- Barley
- Black eye beans
- Pinto beans
- Kidney beans
- Yellow split peas
- Black beans

- Wash beans, place in large kettle. Cover with water 2 inches above bean line. Add in 2 Tbsp. salt, soak overnight. Drain in the morning. Add in 2 qts water, 2 ham hocks or possibly piece of ham. Bring to boil, add in 1 large onion, 1 (16 ounce.) can tomatoes, 1 tsp. chili pwdr, juice of a lemon and pepper to taste.
- Simmer 3 hrs or possibly in crock pot, 3 hrs on high, 5 hrs on low. Remove ham from hock before serving. Use 1 lb. mixed beans for each recipe. Makes 4 qts.
