Receta Italian Anise Bread

Ingredientes
- 1 pkt Active Dry Yeast
- 2 c. Flour, sifted
- 2 tsp Anise Seeds
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
- 1/3 c. Butter or possibly Margarine
- 1/3 c. Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 x Egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp Shredded Lemon Peel
- 2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 3/4 c. Confectioners Sugar, sifted
- 1 Tbsp. Light Cream
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla ds Salt

- In a large mixing bowl combine the yeast, 1/ c. of flour and anise seeds.
- Heat lowfat milk, butter, sugar and salt in a sauce pan till just hot. Stir to heat. Add in heated liquid to flour mix. Add in egg, lemon peel and juice on low speed for / minute, scraping sides constantly. Beat 3 min on high speed. Stir in remaining flour by hand to make a soft dough. Knead 8-10 min on a floured board till smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly greased bowl. Turn once to grease, over and let rise in a hot place 1/-2 hrs. Punch down and let rest 10 min. Shape into a round loaf, cover and let rise till double (about 45 min) in a greased pan. Bake 35-40 min in a preheated 375F oven till done.

- Stir all ingredients together till smooth and spread on the hot cake.
