  • 3 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 c. corn flakes
  • 1/4 c. butter - (1/2 stick)
  • 6 slc white bread, 1/2" to 3/4" thick
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar

Direcciones

  1. Combine Large eggs, lowfat milk, nutmeg and salt in shallow bowl, stirring briskly so mix is blended well and uniform in color.
  2. Crumble corn flakes slightly (to make each flake about half its original size) and spread them in a layer on a piece of wax paper.
  3. Dip (do not soak) both sides of each slice of bread in lowfat milk batter. Press each slice of bread into corn flakes to coat well.
  4. Heat 2 Tbsp. butter in 12-inch skillet over medium heat and fry 3 slices of bread till golden on each side, 2 1/2 to 3 min.
  5. When done, sprinkle about 1 Tbsp. sugar on top of each slice and keep hot in 225 degree oven while frying other 3 slices in remaining 2 Tbsp. butter. Serve warm.
  6. This recipe yields 4 servings.
