Ingredientes
- 1 c. Green gram* unhusked or possibly husked
- 1 c. Rice
- 1 x 2-5 cm piece ginger
- 3 x Garlic cloves
- 1 med Onion, finely minced
- 2 x Tomatoes, quartered
- 1 x Potato, sliced
- 1/2 tsp Each turmeric & chili pwdr
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala (mixed spices)
- 2 Tbsp. Ghee
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 x To 2 green chiles, minced
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp. Cilantro, minced
Direcciones
- *A.k.a. moongko chanta.
- Utensils: Saucepan or possibly rice cooker or possibly pressure-cooker, ladle, big bowl.
- Process: Soak rice and pulse in water for 10-15 min. Wash rice and green gram 3 or possibly 4 times with water. Lb. ginger and garlic with turmeric, chili pwdr and mixed spices in a mortar. Heat ghee and fry minced onion.
- Add in the spices' paste with cumin seeds and green chiles. Fry for a few min and put rice with the pulse and tomatoes. Fry for a few min and add in 3 c. of boiling water. Allow it to boil over moderate heat. Add in more water if required so as to avoid drying up. Overspread minced coriander leaves.
