An easy rolled sugar cookies with creamy icing to enjoy for any holiday. Make them as shamrocks for March 17, hearts for valentines, pumpkins for Holloween and stars for Christmas.

  • Cookies:
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal Flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Easy Creamy Icing
  • 1 cup sifted confectioner's sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or other flavoring
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cream or 1 tablespoon water
  • tint with food coloring: green for shamrocks

Direcciones

  1. Cookies:
  2. Mix sugar and butter.
  3. Add egg and flavoring.
  4. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Mix flour by dipping method, blend soda and cream of tartar in flour.
  6. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
  7. Preheat over 375 F.
  8. Divide dough in half and roll out 3/16-inch think on lightly floured pastry board.
  9. Cut dough with cooky cutter; sprinkle with sugar.
  10. Place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased pan.
  11. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately golden.
  12. Icing:
  13. Blend sugar, salt and vanilla.
  14. Add cream to make it spreadable.
  15. Tint icing with a few drops of food coloring.
  16. Spread the icing on cookies with spatula.

    Glad to hear you like that cookie too, I wish I had found it when my children were little. We get spoiled when we make our own cookies and food from scratch. Enjoy and best to you and children.

      This is the sugar cookie I make for all my holiday baking My family just loves them Quick story one year at Christmas I was in a lazy mood didn't want to make the cookies from starch So I brought the frozen kind baked them and did everything just like I had made them My children asked who made these cookies they don't taste like the ones you always make ... From that day on I never brought those cookies again I make Mary's Sugar Cookies !!!!!! THEY ARE THE BEST :)
