Ingredientes
- 1 c. Split peas
- 3 c. Water (cool)
- 2 lb Smoked ham, shank or possibly bone
- 3 quart Water, boiling
- 1 x Onion, minced
- Â Â Celery leaves
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 x Carrots, chopped
Direcciones
- Wash and sort peas; soak in cool water overnight. Drain and place in a large pot; add in water, ham bone, onion, celery leaves, carrots, salt.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer till peas are very tender, about 2 hrs, adding more water if needed. Remove ham; chop and return to soup. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Also freezes well.
