Receta My Old Cocoa Fudge Cake

Ingredientes
- 1Â 2/3 c. flour
- 1Â 1/2 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. cocoa
- 1Â 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 c. soft shortening (Crisco) *
- 1Â 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 lrg Large eggs

- * I have at various times substituted margarine (not spread, real margarine) and/or possibly butter for the soft shortening with no apparent ill effects.
- Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Fold in shortening, lowfat milk and vanilla. Beat for 2 min at medium speed or possibly 300 strokes by hand.
- Add in Large eggs and beat 2 min more. Pour into greased and floured pan
- (13x9x2) and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 min.
- Tracy's Notes: This is the first thing I can ever remember cooking; I was about 9, I guess. The recipe came from a Betty Crocker Children's good scratch chocolate cake which it's kind of become a standard in our family; it has a nice crumb and is very moist and not too sweet.
