  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 whl cardamom pods crushed
  • 2 whl allspice
  • 1 x cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 lrg oranges peel and white pith
  •     removed cut crosswise
  • 1/3 x "-thick slices
  • 3 x kiwis peeled, and
  •     cut crosswise into 1/3"-thick slices
  • 2 Tbsp. sliced almonds toasted

Direcciones

  1. Stir first 5 ingredients in small saucepan over medium-high heat till sugar dissolves. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; simmer till liquid is syrupy and slightly reduced, about 8 min. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
  2. Arrange orange and kiwi slices in shallow bowl. Pour warm syrup and spices over fruit. Refrigerateat least 1 hour and up to 4 hrs. Sprinkle almonds over; serve.
  3. This recipe yields 6 servings.
