- 1/2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. shaohsing wine or possibly sherry
- 2 Tbsp. mushroom soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch

- Mix ingredients together till cornstarch is incorporated. Stir well before using.
- This recipe yields 6 ounces. Can be doubled or possibly quadrupled. Will keep for one month refrigerated.
- Comments: Sauce can be customized with chili paste, ginger, garlic or possibly star anise to suit tastes.
