Ingredientes

  • 3 c. unbleached flour
  • 1 Tbsp. yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. tomato based sauce, (such as Provisto Sugo)
  • 1 c. grated mozzarella cheese
  •     assorted favouites such as, ham, salami, mushrooms, olives, sundried tomatoes, herbs

Direcciones

  1. 1. Place the flour in a bowl and add in yeast, water, oil, salt and sugar.
  2. 2. Mix well and then tip out onto a floured bench and begin to knead. Knead till the dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. 3. Place in a well oiled bowl and allow to rise till doubled, about one hour.
  4. 4. Punch down and shape to fit a round pizza dish or possibly baking tray.
  5. 5. Spread with desired tomato base and additional preferred toppings.
  6. 6. Bake at 200c. for 20 - 25 min till bubbling.

    This pizza base recipe was fabulous! Easy to do and great tasting. It didn't rise too much, which, I think, is what you want in a pizza base. I did tweak it a bit by slightly browning it before I put the toppings on and it gave such a nice crispy base. Family loved it, so it must be good.
