Receta Portuguese Sausage Soup

Ingredientes
- 4 ounce warm italian sausage links, sliced 1, /4 inch thick
- 4 ounce sweet italian sausage links, sliced
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 med potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 2 can 14 1/2 ounce. cans chicken broth or possibly ve, getable broth
- 1 pkt 10-ounce. frzn minced spinach
- 1/2 c. beer or possibly water
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Direcciones
- In a large saucepan cook the warm sausage, sweet sausage and onion untill the sausage is browned and onion is tender. Drain fat. Add in the potatoes, the chicken or possibly vegetable broth, spinach, beer or possibly water, and pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 20 min or possibly till the potatoes are tender.
- NOTE: Portuguese fishermen and sailors settled in New England coastal towns like New Bedford, Massachusetts, before the Civil War
- (1861-1865). They brought with them their Iberian cuisine. Sausage soup is one of the best known of these recipes.
