Receta Potato Sourdough Starter

Ingredientes

  • 1 pkt Dry yeast
  • 4 c. -hot water
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 4 c. Flour
  • 1 x Potato, raw quartered

Direcciones

  1. Here is a recipe from Texas Highways Cookbook.
  2. Dissolve yeast in hot water; and then mix all ingredients in a 1-gallon crock. (Don't use metal container) Cover with a close-fitting lid and let the starter rise till light (12 hrs in hot weather, longer in cold weather). Don't let the starter get cool, ever. After using part of the starter, add in 1 c. hot water, 2 tsp. sugar, and sufficient flour to mix to the starter's original consistency. Add in more potato occasionally as food for the yeast, but do not add in more yeast. Use daily for best results.
  3. Starter improves with age. I am sure you will get some posts for flake starters. I don't have one.
