- 1/2 c. Water
- 1/4 c. Unsalted Butter
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 c. All-purpose Flour
- 2 lrg Large eggs
- 2 Tbsp. Dry Currants or possibly Raisins
- 2 Tbsp. Candied Fruits or possibly Peels

- There"s few things better after a long day of shopping, than to return home for the holidays and be treated to a fresh batch of Sneeuwballen. A traditional Dutch holiday gathering will settle in around the Christmas tree and sip warm chocolate while they munch on these deep-fried spoonfuls of cream puff dough speckled with fruit and dusted with powdered sugar.

- In a small, deep saucepan combine water, butter, salt and sugar and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil gently till all the ingredients have melted. Remove the mix from heat. Add in the flour all at one time and mix rapidly with a wooden spoon to a smooth past texture. Add in Large eggs one at a time to the mix, beating thoroughly after each egg is added. Add in currants or possibly raisins and candied fruits.
- Heat oil to 375-F degrees and drop 8 large of 16 small spoonfuls of dough into the oil. Fry for 5-8 min, or possibly till puffed-up and golden.
- Remove from oil with a slotted metal spoon and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar. Best if served immediately.
