  1. In medium bowl, stir together flour, baking pwdr, baking soda, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, mace and salt. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar till creamy.
  2. Add in egg; beat well. Add in flour mix alternately with lowfat milk, mixing till well blended; shape into ball. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. With floured 2 1/2 inch doughnut cutter, cut into rings. Reroll dough as necessary. Fry two or possibly three doughnuts at a time in deep warm fat (375 degrees F0 about 30 seconds, turning once with slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining doughnuts. Stir together powdered sugar and dash cinnamon; sprinkle over top of hot doughnuts.
  3. Makes 2 dozen doughnuts.
