Receta Texas Cornbread Dressing

Ingredientes
- 2 c. Yellow cornmeal
- 2 c. Flour
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 c. Lowfat milk
- 4 x Large eggs
- 1/2 c. Vegetable oil
- 4 Tbsp. Butter
- 1 lb Sweet Italian sausages
- 3 c. Minced onion
- 3 c. Minced celery
- 1 can Green chilies
- 2 Tbsp. Chopped garlic
- 1 can Green chilies
- 2 Tbsp. Chopped garlic
- 2 Tbsp. Chili pwdr
- 4 tsp Grnd cumin
- 1 c. Minced walnuts
- 2 c. Chicken broth
Direcciones
- Combine all ingredients in order. Blend well and pour into 9x13 inch baking dish which is greased well. Bake at 400 degrees till done, about 25 min. Cold. (This can be done a day ahead.) Cut cornbread into cubes.
- Spread on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 min. Transfer to a large bowl and set aside. Remove casings from sausage and crumble. Heat butter in large skillet. Add in sausage and saute/fry till brown. Add in onions, celery, jalapeno and garlic. Saute/fry about 5 min. Stir in chili pwdr and cumin. Saute/fry about 2 min more. Stir in nuts. Season with salt and pepper. Mix into cornbread. Stir in broth to moisten. Transfer to greased baking dish. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min. Uncover and bake 25 min longer.
