Receta The Raptors Favourite Blackened Okra

Ingredientes
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 sm onion, sliced, thinly
- 1 lb fresh okra, ends trimmed, and, cut into thick slices
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/4 tsp dry thyme
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp garlic pwdr
- 1/4 tsp grnd sage
- 2 x cloves chopped garlic
Direcciones
- Heat the oil in a large thick-bottomed pan over medium heat till it begins to smoke. Add in all the ingredients and stir vigorously for about ten min. Serve immediately.
- Okra is one of the most common staple vegetables in Southern cooking. This distinctive-looking seedpod behaves in two different ways when cooked. If simmered in a broth it releases mucilaginous thickening agents which naturally thicken the liquid. When fried, as in this recipe, it becomes crisp and tender. Either way its authentic flavour will win you over and which's why the Raptors love it!
